Currie talks about Martin’s new contract
in K-State Sports by Rob Voelker 0

K-State signed men’s basketball coach Frank Martin to a new six-year contract on Sunday.  The deal will pay Martin an average of $1.55 million dollar per year, with performance based and retention incentives built into the contract.  K-State athletic director John Currie joined KMAN’s “Wildcat Insider” on Monday, and Coach Martin’s emotions shown at a Sunday press conference were real and shows his passion.  Currie says besides the 69 wins on his resume, Martin hit all the marks on his evaluation, and both he and coach Martin spoke quite a bit about the contract to make sure they were on the same page.  Currie adds that even though Martin signed a six-year deal with K-State, he’s not “locked in” for the life of the contract.  To hear the interview with Currie on demand, go online to 1350KMAN.com.
