Bramlage Coliseum hasn’t seen its last basketball game this season, not by a long shot as the 2A state tournament begins on Wednesday. The girls will take the court first in the quarterfinal round, with TVL runner-up Valley Heights in the field. Mustangs coach Ryan Noel says it’s always an honor to play at Bramlage Coliseum. Valley Heights last played at state in 2008 with a loss to Berean Academy in the first round, when leading scorers Macy Parker and Gentry Botkin were sophomores. Valley Heights will be the #7 seed, and will face #2 seed Hill City in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Noel says the Ringnecks run a high-octane offense, that reminds him of the Texas Tech football team’s attack.
2A State Tournament schedule for Wednesday
#1 Olpe vs. #8 Lebo - 3:00
#4 Berean Academy vs. #5 Pittsburg Colgan - 4:45
#2 Hill City vs. #7 Valley Heights - 6:30
#3 Spearville vs. #6 Osborne - 8:15
